Research4Life Access
Reducing the knowledge gap between industrialized and developing nations.
Global Equitability in Science
Research4Life is a collective name for five programs—Hinari, AGORA, OARE, ARDI, and GOALI—that provide developing countries with free or low-cost access to academic and professional peer-reviewed content online. As a federal institution in a Group B eligibility country, FUAZ is a primary beneficiary of this initiative.
AGORA
Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture. Led by the FAO, providing over 15,000 journals and 48,000 books.
OARE
Online Access to Research in the Environment. Led by UNEP, focusing on biology, climate change, and ecology.
HINARI
Research in Health. Led by the WHO, providing access to biomedical and health-related literature.
How to Access
FUAZ students and staff can access these databases through our institutional login. Unlike IP-recognition databases, Research4Life programs require a specific username and password which are refreshed annually.
Impact on FUAZ
- Cost-Free Publications: Full-text access to journals that would otherwise require thousands of dollars in individual subscriptions.
- Training Resources: Access to the Research4Life training portal for mastering information literacy and citation management.
